Bristol-based alternative outfit echochamber fuse the raw emotional punch of 2000s emo with the blurred edges of nu-gaze and alternative rock, shaping a sound built for catharsis as much as atmosphere. With soaring vocals, nostalgic guitar lines, and dense, immersive walls of sound, the band has quickly carved out a distinctive lane within the UK’s rising alternative scene.
.
Following releases including “nothing changes,” “fall apart,” and “netherworld,” echochamber continues to build momentum through emotionally direct songwriting that feels both comfortingly familiar and sharply current. Their new single “downpour” arrives via Year Of The Rat Records on 17th July 2026, landing fresh off shows with Hacktivist and Eurotripp, and with early attention from outlets including Lambgoat and Metal Hammer.
.
Frontman Jamie Fitzpatrick describes “downpour” as a metaphor for a sudden surge of emotion—capturing the uneasy moment of realising life feels stalled, while others appear to be moving forward. The track holds that tension between frustration and nostalgia, looking back to younger years filled with hope and possibility, and confronting the fear that those dreams may now feel out of reach. In that push and pull—between longing and self-doubt—“downpour” becomes a portrait of mixed emotions, and a reminder of how heavy it can feel to be left behind while still trying to believe there’s a way out.
