Owen Marchildon has been releasing music for more than two decades, through projects such as Purple Hill, Rough Skeletons, Marchildon! and High Wasted. He has also played bass for Julie Kendall’s surf-soul project 1977, and the critically lauded Math Rock Quartet, From Fiction. He now presents his first single, titled Heavy Dreams, under his own name.

Discussing the project, Owen shares life started to change after meeting Kaitlin, his partner. He describes, ‘’ Her disposition was just like the songs on Radio City, sunny and unpretentious, dreamy and invisible to the public. I asked myself in disbelief, “How was she available?” Our friendship, which slowly turned into our courtship, was filled with good times and a serious devotion towards one another. I had finally found my sounding board, my purveyor of all things positive. “Heavy Dreams” is a love song for his best friend. Written after their wedding day, all the moments leading up to it, and knowing that he was no longer alone. The track is available on streaming platforms.
