Aneessa, born in Saint-Étienne, France, began her artistic journey by making a name for herself in the dance scene as Anya Rose and Lady Aneessa. Later, she moved to Paris to pursue higher education in literature and languages at the University La Sorbonne, and began singing Jazz, Soul, and pop covers. After spending some time in Manchester, England, Aneessa returned to France and ventured into various career moves, including starting her own record label, recording studio, and graphic design company.

Along the way, she met influential collaborators, and her projects began to have a global impact. One of the most significant encounters in her career was with Motown producer Michael B. Sutton, with whom she initially had a business relationship for a media company. Their relationship developed into romance, and they began writing and producing music together, with Aneessa turning her skills toward smooth jazz interpretations.

Aneessa’s music is inspired by her personal experiences, her passion for uplifting and helping others, and her desire to create music that connects with people. Her music is aimed at spreading joy, inspiration, and positive energy to people’s lives. Aneessa tests out her songs before releasing them, often performing them live in front of an audience to gauge their reactions. She also prepares for her gigs by rehearsing with her band, practicing her vocals, and getting into a focused and positive mindset.

Despite facing challenges, such as navigating the music industry as an independent artist, Aneessa has persisted and built a successful career. As an independent singer, she has the freedom to create and release music on her own terms and connect with her fans directly through social media and live shows. Aneessa hopes to continue using her music to make a positive impact on others and bring joy to people’s lives. We had the pleasure to discuss her career and current projects

Thank you for agreeing to catch up with Occhi Magazine. For readers unfamiliar with you and your background, what drew you to a career in the arts?

I was drawn to a career in the arts because of my passion for singing and performing, which I began to embrace strongly while living in Saint-Etienne, France. I am driven and motivated to uplift and help others through my music, as well as share my own personal story.

Who were your early influences and how did they impact your career

My early influences include a variety of artists from different genres, as well as my own life experiences. I have collaborated with many musicians throughout my career and learned valuable lessons from them, including the importance of staying true to oneself and having a strong work ethic.

Which three traits define you?

The three defining traits that define me are my passion, creativity, and resilience.

Please tell us about your latest project.

My latest project is my album “I Found Myself in You,” feat. Michael B Sutton (Former Motown producer) with producer and musician it is available on all major streaming platforms. The song, which was released on our fifth anniversary, captures the essence of their love perfectly, with lyrics of hope, tenderness, and discovery. We sing a beautiful story that perfectly illustrates the profound connection we share.

The music is an ode to the life we have created together and serves as a reminder that true love can always be found within one another.

The instrumental accompaniment is soothing and mellow, featuring a steady and laid-back drumbeat, smooth saxophone melodies, and gentle piano chords. Our vocals complement each other perfectly, with our own unique style to the table while still maintaining a cohesive and harmonious sound. The lyrics of the song are romantic and heartfelt, speaking of the discovery of true love and the joy of finding oneself in another person. “I Found Myself in You” is for fans of smooth jazz and love songs.

What other projects are in the pipeline?

I have several projects in the pipeline, including new music videos, live performances, and collaborations with other artists.
