The Falls
Manchester’s indie-rock risers The Falls are back with fresh fuel for the live circuit, unveiling their new single ‘Open Fire’ via Revo Pro. Formed in 2023, the band has moved through the UK scene with the kind of pace you can’t manufacture: the rooms get bigger, the tickets move faster, and the hometown shows have started to feel like events. They’ve built a reputation on sweat-and-volume performances across the country, while continuing to turn Manchester into their stronghold — regularly selling out local venues and proving, gig after gig, that the buzz is earned. February 2026 marked their biggest hometown headline yet, stepping up to the city’s iconic Manchester Academy, and the appetite hasn’t slowed since. Their upcoming November headline at Gullivers sold out in under 24 hours, prompting a second, more intimate date at The Castle Hotel due to demand.

Sonically, The Falls sit in that sweet spot where classic British indie bite meets modern urgency. With touchstones like The Courteeners, The Kooks, and Jake Bugg, they channel energetic guitar hooks and sharp, story-led lyricism — the kind that lands whether you’re in the front row or hearing it through headphones on a late-night walk. Their debut EP ‘Viva La Falls’ arrived in September 2025 and has already clocked over 100,000 streams, alongside early praise from Radio X’s John Kennedy — a strong signal that the band’s upward curve is only beginning.
The Falls comprises Harrison Sharp (vocals), Joel Quirk (guitar), Ren Smith (bass), and Tom Chester (drums). Produced, mixed, and mastered by Luke Owens (SHADE, Montello, The Sprats), ‘Open Fire’ is a sub-three-minute powder keg — tight, fast, and relentless. Explosive drums drive the track forward while melodic bass lines and frenetic guitars spark around urgent vocals, capturing the feeling of momentum turning into mayhem. Musically and lyrically, it’s the sound of control slipping — not gradually, but all at once.

Speaking on the single, vocalist and lyricist Harrison Sharp explains: “We’ve been itching to record Open Fire for a little while as it’s a definite fan favourite live. It’s short, sharp, super catchy, and encapsulates our current sound perfectly. The song carries a fiery energy that mirrors the sense of everything falling apart, where control feels just out of reach. We used ‘Open Fire’ as a metaphor describing being ‘shot at’ and to translate that emotion into something physical, symbolising danger, disorder, and the importance of recognising when to pause, step back, and to look after ourselves.”
