Flair - Occhi Magazine
The Glasgow-based post-indie outfit Flair is back. Their new single ‘Nausea’ landed on 13 March 2026, a raw, unflinching return that feels like it was pulled straight from the city’s cold pavement and late-night static. It’s the latest taste of the band’s upcoming second studio EP, For Lack of a Better Word, due 10 July 2026 via Revo Pro.
.
Flair’s story has been built the hard way: formed in 2019, then sharpened through years of relentless gigging and studio graft until their identity properly snapped into focus in 2023 with their debut EP and breakout track ‘Run Away’. From there, the momentum didn’t so much build as lurch forward at speed — a shortlist spot at the 2025 Scottish Live Music Awards for ‘Best Live Artist’, radio play stretching beyond Scotland, and early nods from the Glasgow Times, The Scotsman, and the Belfast Telegraph. On stage, they’ve shared bills with Pentire and Arkayla, and earned slots at respected festivals including Belladrum Tartan Heart, proving their live reputation isn’t hype — it’s a warning.
Sonically, Flair continues to channel the pulse of Glasgow as both creative backbone and driving force. Rather than outgrowing their roots, they weaponise them — all grit, urgency and a kind of bruised euphoria that hits like buckfast in music form. Drenched in reverb and propelled by razor-sharp hooks, they fold in the melodic sweep of Wunderhorse and The War On Drugs, then cut it with the bite of Fontaines D.C., carving out a sound that’s unmistakably theirs.
.
On ‘Nausea’, that sound turns darker. The track captures the claustrophobia of spiralling thoughts and the uneasy thrill of losing control — an emotionally punishing earworm that tightens its grip with every bar. It opens in a state of suffocating tension, pulsing basslines and jagged guitars pushing forward beneath desperate vocals, as Flair lean into the shadowier corners of their catalogue without flinching.
.
Discussing the song’s lyrical roots, vocalist and lyricist Tony Collum explains: “Nausea emerged during a few bleak winter studio sessions in Glasgow in late 2025. The song reflects the inner pressures we faced at the time. Nausea channels spiralling thoughts and the emotions behind the pressures of lineup changes, tumultuous relationships, and restless ambitions.
With For Lack of a Better Word on the horizon, ‘Nausea’ doesn’t just set the tone — it draws a line under what Flair are becoming: louder, sharper, and more fearless about letting the cracks show.
Flair comprises  Tony Collum (vocals), Louis Collum (guitar), Jamie Hamilton (guitar), Jonnie Wilkie (bass), and Callum McArthur (drums)
