Chum (film 2025) featured in Occhi Magazine
Plaion Pictures has confirmed the UK digital release of shark horror Chum, arriving on all major platforms from Monday 17 August. Directed by Jonathan Zuck, who co-writes with Joe Leone, the film stars Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, She’s Out of My League) alongside Eric Michael Cole, Elle Haymond, Sarah Siadat, Jim Klock, and Robert Grose. With an 87-minute runtime, Chum leans into sunlit dread, setting its survival story against the deceptive calm of the Mediterranean.
The film follows a newlywed couple who join friends for a yacht excursion after a destination wedding on the Mediterranean coast—only for the celebration to curdle into chaos. Trapped at sea, the group finds themselves caught between two threats: a predatory shark circling below and a sinister fisherman whose presence turns paranoia into panic. What begins as a glamorous escape quickly becomes a fight to stay alive. Chum is produced by Alice Eve, Kurt Fethke, Ryan R. Johnson, Lucas Jarach, and Eamon O’Rourke, with a story by Dick Grunert, Ryan R. Johnson, and James Kondelik.
