Nothing is wasted in this first full-length documentary directed by Andrei Bowden-Schwartz and Sam B. Jones. ‘Red, White & Wasted is a fascinatingly raw and honest look into a struggling family who proudly call themselves “rednecks.”

This documentary will break all “sacred cows” for those of us who grapple with the culture of race relations, the Trump mentality, and the environment. You will see these people for who they are, and for what they are. Good, bad, or indifferent.
‘Red, White & Wasted’ documentary will introduce viewers to the way of life for Mathew Burns- nicknamed “Video Pat.” Along with his two daughters Jessi, Krista, and baby grandson Matthew (the mother left them a long time ago). Filmed in Orlando Florida, one would find it hard to believe that beyond Cinderella’s Castle of dreams, is a muddy haven of swampland culture exists. This well put together film will grip the viewer with the narration by Video Pat. He’s been documenting the culture of Mudding, along with his daughter’s problems of drug abuse, health problems, and dysfunction. Strangely enough, with all of his family’s “swamp pit” of problems, Video Pat remains optimistic and excited. The Mudding culture is what he lives and loves.

In this deeply engrossing documentary, ‘Red, White & Wasted tackles the culture of Mudding, it’s a sport that’s very popular in the swampland subculture. It involves a huge cast of people, most of them proudly proclaiming they are “rednecks,” along with confederate flags waving high. With an enormous amount of large, all-wheel drives racing into huge pits of mud. This is what they do. Their world includes what was called a high racing “Redneck Yacht Club.”

Speaking of “high,” here’s where the wasted comes in. I dare anyone to take their eyes off this documentary when the swamp games begin! You have a combination of boozy men, fast driving these monstrous trucks illegally in these swamps. Women twerking on trucks in mud, Everyone in the swampland is as happy as a bee in honey. All to the delight of cheering bystanders.
‘Red, White & Wasted’ lives up to its name in an intoxicating fashion. It’s not something that one would see every day. This film is a journey, at times disturbing. Yet, It’s a documentary that’s raw and real. Like no other.

The film is currently in virtual theaters and On Demand from today (September 22)
