Bristol-based rock multi-instrumentalist Lucky Thief is pleased to announce the release of ‘Silencer’ on March 31st, 2023, his brand new single and the first to be taken from his upcoming debut album due later this year.

Giving up piano at the age of 10, Lucky Thief never cared for music lessons; instead, he taught himself every instrument you hear. Drawing from his own experiences of mental illness, alcohol abuse, sex, and religious upbringing, Lucky Thief’s music is reflective and relatable. Blending his unique way of playing with his raw, alluring vocals and confessional lyrics, Lucky Thief aims to draw you into his journey and doesn’t let you go again until the finishing note.

The first single to be taken from his debut full-length, Silencer was recorded at Humm Studios with Dom Mitchison (The Manatees, Pet Shimmers, Heavy Lungs), mixed by Ky Witney (The Naturals), and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones). With fuzzy guitar tones, tension-fuelled riffs, and infectious choruses, Silencer is instantly grabbing.

Lucky Thief explains the inspiration behind the single: “Silencer is about being unable to control how we speak. So many people have opinions that are narrow-minded, selfish, and ill-considered; This song airs my frustration with them. It also looks at how hard it is for me to stay quiet, if I feel something deserves to be said, I will not be silenced.”

Three years in the making, Lucky Thief’s upcoming debut album is due in the Summer of 2023. He spent the latter part of 2022 auditioning a full band to be able to take the album live throughout the UK in 2023.

‘Silencer’ is due for release on March 31st and will be available on all major platforms.
