Sad Cypress has returned with a double A-sided release that feels less like a simple single drop and more like a doorway opening. ‘Sirens’ / ‘It Means A Lot To Me’ arrives as the latest offering from her Princess of Cups EP, with a physical release planned for later this year — and it captures two distinct currents in her ever-expanding world: the spellbound and the sacred.

First comes ‘Sirens’, an evocative piece that clocks in at under a minute, yet manages to leave a long shadow. Built from swirling harmonies and waltzing guitars, it feels like a whispered ritual—something half-heard through fog, summoning spirits rather than chasing hooks. Cypress frames the track as “an inversion of the usual mythology,” turning the familiar tale on its head. Instead of luring sailors to their doom, these sirens “don’t want any distractions… what it is they are doing is more interesting.” It’s a small statement with a huge implication — a song that refuses spectacle, choosing mystery, autonomy, and intent.
