World-renowned saxophonist and Occhi favorite Tim Warfield has been a force in the world of jazz for more than thirty years. The 1995 album ‘A Cool Blue’ was his first recording as a band leader, but he has supported many of jazz greats, including Dizzy Gillespie, Shirley Scott, Donald Byrd, Nicholas Payton, and Isaac Hayes.

This year is the tenth anniversary of his album Jazzy Christmas. The saxophonist will be celebrating this with a series of performances at Jazz Showcase , 806 S Plymouth Ct Chicago from December 15th until Sunday, December 18th.  The performances start at 8 pm and will feature the talented ensemble of Terell Stafford (trumpet) Warren Wolf (vibraphone) Cyrus Chestnut (piano) Rodney Whitaker (bass) Runere Brooks on bass (Saturday only) Clarence Penn on drums and Lucy Yeghiazaryan on vocals.
