In July 2026, the Tuscan hilltop town of Peccioli will become something it has never been before: a living, breathing soundscape—alive with brass, rhythm, and the unmistakable spirit of New Orleans. Jazz Peccioli 2026 isn’t being positioned as another summer festival on the Italian calendar. It’s arriving as an immersive cultural takeover—an ambitious, unprecedented project for the region and a concept that stands out on a national level.
.
For several days, Peccioli’s streets, piazzas, and theatres will transform into an international crossroads of music and movement. Concerts, parades, and pop-up performances will spill into the town’s historic centre, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of Louisiana with brass bands, second line traditions, deep African American roots, and the forward-facing innovation that keeps jazz evolving. The goal is not imitation, but connection—bringing the tradition, magic, and musical DNA of the city where jazz was born into the heart of Tuscany.
.
At the core of this project is something bigger than programming: a formal bridge between two communities. The festival grows directly from the official Sister Cities partnership between the Municipality of Peccioli and the City of New Orleans, signed on 26 September 2025 by the Mayor of Peccioli and Mayor LaToya Cantrell. That agreement marked the beginning of long-term collaboration across culture, education, and tourism—turning international dialogue into a concrete exchange. Jazz Peccioli 2026 is the first major initiative to fully activate that partnership, setting the tone for what a lasting cultural relationship between Tuscany and the United States can look like.
.
Co-founded by Grammy Award–winning artist Adonis Rose alongside the municipal administration, the festival will feature Rose himself with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, joined by a powerful lineup of internationally acclaimed artists including Andromeda Turre, Sean Ardoin, Sabine McCalla, and Phillip Manuel. It’s a bill that speaks to the breadth of New Orleans’ musical legacy—rooted in tradition, but constantly reimagining itself.
And then there’s the heartbeat of the streets. Daily parades by the LSU Brass Band will energise Peccioli with the unmistakable joy and defiance of the second line—a tradition that is equal parts celebration, procession, and communal release. Leading the way will be a Baby Doll Grand Marshal, paying tribute to a century-old African American Carnival heritage that carries history in every step, every costume, every drum hit.
.
The artistic programme expands further with names such as Alexey Marti, the Jesse McBride Trio, and Amina Scott, representing Afro-Caribbean influences, intergenerational mentorship, and the evolving trajectories of contemporary jazz. But Jazz Peccioli’s ambition doesn’t stop at performance. Educational workshops for local students will explore the history and evolution of New Orleans music, offering direct engagement with artists and creating a meaningful legacy beyond the final encore.
.
Ultimately, Jazz Peccioli 2026 is cultural diplomacy in motion: a platform for collaboration, a catalyst for economic and creative growth, and a bold way to elevate a territory through authentic exchange. For a few days, Peccioli won’t simply host New Orleans. It will carry its voice. Its rhythm. Its energy. And in doing so, it will remind us that jazz—at its truest—has always been about connection.
